PINEAPPLE BEER step by step RECIPE

In this episode, I prepared a step by step recipe for pineapple beer so that you can follow along from home. Once you have it fermenting you need to wait 7 - 9 days before bottling out. This is the time that the yeast used to smash all the sugar and poo your bucket full of ethanol. Mine batches have been coming out at between 4.5 % and 6.5 % ABV after this first stage and they only get better in the bottles while they settle out.

The ultimate DIY RAM PUMP pressure system

In this episode of Morgs Brew, we will be modifying the Ultimate DIY Ram Pump pressure system. The ram pump journey started as a simple video my dad shared with me as a way to easily get water to some old trees. This idea evolved into something much bigger and the journey we have shared has been well worth any grey hairs earned.

DIY welding | GETTING STARTED

Cut the most important part, then you have to weld it back together! Learning to weld takes time behind a stick but if you are not prepared behind a stick, then learning to weld will take a toll on your motivation. Being prepared for the job is just a big part of welding. Getting the metal surfaces clean and ready for new metal is the other. In this episode, I have started one of the many 'farm jobs' that requires my time. The gyro mower needs some bodywork while her gearbox is being serviced. I decided to use this opportunity to take you through the steps of how to get started welding your own projects. Sometimes it is best to just jump into the deep end and learn to swim.

RAM PUMP valve design

In this episode, I detail the valve fails I have gone through in my DIY ram pump. I have tried several versions and multiple sites using an array of valves along the way. To skip through to a specific section, click on the time codes below or enjoy the edited and join in on the journey

GROW your own smokes | SOUTH AFRICAN ZOL

This video is a tribute to the South Africans growing their own "smokes" in these strange times. Ministers are the punch line of viral songs about sharing Zol which is the primary reason THEY closed the sale of cigarettes to the people of South Africa. We are living in strange times where growing and smoking cannabis is legal and the guys who smoke cigarettes are suddenly dealing in black market trade. The law has flipped and the country is dealing this in various ways. I am dancing on a rebellious line while maintaining a legal grounding as I agitate and move through this reality.

GROWING your gut microbiome with FERMENTED PORRIDGE

Fermented foods are great tools for growing your gut microbiome and Mageu is a simple food that can be prepared in your own home without any previous experience. In this video, I detail the process we use to make the African fermented porridge called Mageu. I drink mixtures of this daily with or without fruit. My Zulu mom Besta taught me how to make it and my other half wrote a poem about it.

HOW TO BREW your own PINEAPPLE BEER

In this episode, I will show you how to brew your own pineapple beer using ingredients you can buy at any essential goods store in South Africa. Being able to brew your own beer is an ancient technique and something that is still practiced across rural South Africa. The traditional beer called Quomboti is great, but if you have never had it before then it is probably not the best idea to try it as your first homebrew. There are lots of tricks that can be used to optimize any brewing process so unless you get your hands dirty and your vision blurry, you will not start to see them. It helps if you have friends doing it with you. We had the privilege to get together on a virtual hangout to share our experiences with the brew and to help keep sane during Lockdown. Watch this video before trying to brew your own beer and let me help you get confidence in your process.

HOMEMADE pineapple beer DO'S and DONT'S

I have compiled a list of do's and dont's for homemade pineapple beer to help you make a successful first batch. This episode talks about the steps and considerations to make a safe and drinkable pineapple beer. These tips have been compiled by asking a group of homebrewers for their input after successfully brewing their own batches and is intended to give you the knowledge required to get through a brew.

If you are interested in setting up your own rainwater harvesting systems at home WATCH this video first! It is possible to design a rainwater harvesting system that can harvest rainwater off of almost any structure at relatively high efficiency. In this video, I have used my 10 000L storage platform to explain the process of understanding, collecting, and using rainwater in my context in South Africa. Jojo and Roto tanks are both made in South Africa and are readily available throughout the country.

We BUILT a WALL | The NEW SOUTH AFRICA

We Built a wall using New South Africa skills. In this video, I sit down with my mate Rob to chat with him about how he learned the art of building. South Africa is a dynamic place with too many people lost in the dark. Rob and I are in pursuit of learning and we have the drive to self-teach. I recently learned that the term for this is AUTODIDACT.
